Born and raised in Northern Colorado, I developed a deep love for art from an early age. I grew up just a short drive from the Wyoming border, and take much of my inspiration from the rugged Western landscapes of both states, as well as the resilient men and women who call them home.

My work blends the energy and life of impressionism with a strong foundation in realism, balancing bold color and saturation within a disciplined understanding of value, light, and composition. I have dedicated the last four years to painting “en plein air”, which French for “out in the open”, or painting on location. This approach allows me to investigate and capture my subjects as they exist from my own eyes, rather than working strictly from photographs. Through these plein air paintings, I work to inform my larger studio pieces, bringing an element of immersive atmosphere that speaks to the true spirit of the American West.
